Cool Morning Ocean

Summer Memory Quilt Squares

An ice cream bar
instead of eggs and toast
beckons the spirit
to wrap a beach towel
around shivering shoulders.
Cold water
Steady sea breeze
No reservation in name.
Mountains to ocean,
rise brick,
glass and steel,
the realty and reality
unfolding the imagination
to oceans of sensing
words waited
for that moment.

June 2022
On a rainy Monday morning, I wrote two poems, story notes, read a short story, read about short stories, and decided to balance my feeling of the world on confused, with reading Shakespeare, a legitimate source of confusion.

I love this poem, May. The imagery is wonderful. Makes me want to be there. I almost feel as if I am.

I have a fairy tale in my head I need to write down. That's a good way to spend time concentrating on something pleasant. And did you say COOL? AAAhhhh...something to look forward to!

Thank you, Becki
Rainy mornings in summer always feel like being at the beach.

Your poem was nice, and I can see myself eating an ice cream bar for breakfast during the Summer days. Your memory quilt squares are lovely keepsakes. My sister used to sew quilts back in the day. I think it's such a talent. There's something about BLUE in the home that speaks to me. : )

Have a sweet Summer week.

Ah, Shakespeare - either a love or hate for his writings I suspect. I fall pretty much on the side of dislike because most of what he wrote makes absolutely no sense.
Ice cream for breakfast - I'm ready!!

Your comment didn't show up until this evening. Enjoy writing your fairy tale. :)

Shakespeare rattles my brain cobwebs lose, opens a fresh perspective. :)

The poem is so very evocative of early summer at the shore. It's really lovely.
