Geology and Physical Geography are two areas that are similar. In summer, we are embracing them first hand through weather, feet on the ground, and travel.
Research your questions about the world around you
Browse bookstores for textbooks, atlases, and videos
Create a summer to watch list of films based on geology
Read about your state's geology
Visit areas with special geological features
Wear a map tee shirt
Learn the names of cloud formations by altitude, and type of weather

Wow, that is quite and agenda. I have to teach a class on garden plants to some elementery students. So today I am reviewing seeds, photosyntheis, root development. etc.
Tabor,
Gardening, botany are great summer subject themes. Soil is a fascinating subject.
Have fun teaching!
I love learning the history and geology of my island home. It is so small, much information exists about everything here really! Have a wonderful summer!
Marie,
PEI is a magical place.
I hope one day I can travel there.
Good ideas.
William,
Another to add is research local ice cream, and fudge sources.
Summer is my very favorite. A wonderful time for exploration.
Jeanie,
A summer of exploration sounds wonderful!
Researching my area's Geology is a good idea, and one that I've wanted to do since I moved to the mountains. Surprisingly, this area was my Mother-in-law's birth place, and that interests me very much. A wonderful post filled with knowledge and creativity.

Sheri,
California has fascinating geology as well as history. Have fun exploring!
SPS,
If you ever come to PEI, I hope we can meet. I would love to show you around some of our favourite places and have a picnic, of course.
Marie,
For sure, a visit would be nice.
PEI is a beautiful place. I hope some day to travel the area because a grandmother was from Newfoundland.
I remember as a child being fascinated by the globe we had in our classroom and then being hugely disappointed to find out that a number of the countries had changed borders/names. I couldn't understand how the world could change like that. The innocence of youth!
Maryanne,
you have a fun globe memory.
In grade school, a twirl of the globe stopped by one finger would be predict your honeymoon destination.
