The Process of Change

Change takes time. In those hours, days and years, emotions, ideas, feelings, and such go through a process. Things we might say may be right for the moment, feel right for that moment, but those words may not support the changes we seek to create. During a time of grand emotion like the recent verdict, pure of joy and tremendous relief, feeling the breath of humanity released in that justice, words that rise out of those emotions, the moment creates them. I need to embrace that element of change. I need to stand strong in my belief in the process of change, and feel compassion for any emotional cornucopia of words that would pull me down.

The work against racism
is about the whole of humanity,
not parts of it.
