Sprouts

A good sign of spring is when seeds sprout.
I planted marigolds. Instead, there are several morning glories from last year's seeds, and another flower I don't remember what it is. It will be fun to see what they turn out to be.

  1. Oh gosh, I'm always pulling out things I think are weeds, then later in the year I realize it was something I planted. Now I have started marking everything with a Popsicle stick so I'll know the next spring.

    1. Hello Carol,
Popsicle sticks it is! I wish I had done that. Instead, I pulled out all the plastic plant markers. I think the unknown spouts might be petunias.

  2. How true. I have small green things I hesitate to pull because I am not sure they are a volunteer flower!

    1. Hello Tabor,
Not pulling up sprouts is the way to go.
I found a pansy in the shrubs nearby with a flower! How the seed got way over there is a mystery. Where the pansy were planted last year, there is nothing.

    1. Hello Debbie,
Morning glory seeds are the easiest to save. I have seeds going back to 2010. They sprout every year before I have a chance to sow any seeds. lol
      Hugs!

  4. I never seem to have much luck with marigolds. Maybe I water them too much. Any tips would be most welcome :)

    1. Hi Loree,
Marigolds here in Vermont don't need much water; and, it depends where they are planted. One place they are stripped bare by bugs while in another they thrive. I gave up, and now put them in containers.

  5. I very rarely grow annuals so once established my plants tend to be there until I move or remove them. I've just been away and come back to a new blog title. You are very good at confusing me. But then I am a man.

    1. Hi Graham,
Last blog name change I promise. :)
Flowering pansy are turning up this year in places where they weren't planted last year here.
      Windy day travels, methinks.

    1. Hello William,
      Love your Ottawa tulip photos
The sprouts are not growing much. I hope this week's warmer weather will give them a boost.
