Red Twigs and Watercolor

The red twig dogwood shrub adds charming color to the winter landscape. I don't know what kind of red twig dogwood is in the photo. There are a few to chose from. A list for a week of photos to paint from focuses on challenges. I don't recall painting the plant as a focal point. It will be interesting to learn if masking works better than painting over a color wash background.
