Old Holiday Greeting Cards as Ornaments

The front of old holiday greeting cards make charming ornaments.
In this version a motif is cut out and then a back is cut in that shape
using another greeting card.

Santa Front with wreath back

The backing doesn't have to be an exact match, but should have some image interest.

With image facing outwards,
Glue together with a string holder at the top
A dowel is easy to roll glue along the edges

Old holiday greeting cards are perfect for a quaint tree theme

Add glitter or other embellishments

The cut outs provide a variety of shapes for a tree, greenery garland or wreath

  1. A lovely past time in the cold of winter. People send me fewer and fewer cards now and mostly send photos of the kids and family.

    1. Hi Tabor,
      The same here, fewer cards each year. I'm sending out more this year. It takes time for folks to get back in the swing of sending out holiday cards.
      Stay warm!

  2. Lovely re-use of cards :) I usually design a New Year card and send it by Actual Mail, but this year I just don't know if I have it in me. Just trying to keep up with the required day-to-day stuff is pretty challenging right now!

    1. Hi Quinn,
      Your goat pictures are good to see even in the cold. I can see the challenge getting out there 24/7 to tend them. Stay Warm, as you're able!
