Starlings in Flight

Starlings fly before the camera as if they either can't decide on their best side or else they want the camera to make the decision. I chose this side. I might make a poster with this photograph.

  1. OK, so this is SO very cool, May! I love birds. Each fall, we get inundated with these squawking, chirping black birds that I believe are Orioles (they have an orange or yellowish spot on each wing)...they are not native birds. They ALL congregate in one or two trees in areas when you find them, and are SO noisy you can't hear yourself think. Your photos certainly remind me of them - just beautiful!

    1. Hi Tanya,
I love our post with photos of Mesa Verde National Park!
It could have been the sound of the wind dampening their chatter, but they didn't make a lot of noise like I expected.

    2. I HAVE to find out what kind of birds these are here. They are INCREDIBLY noisy - it's a riot! Not here year-round, so I know they are coming in from places unknown. I really love them, but they're a mystery to me. XOXO

    3. Hi Tanya,
Your birds might be red wing black birds. They can make a lot of noise as well as different calls.
