Ah, the Joys of Goldenrod

Goldenrod in Bloom August 2015
Have you felt an increase in watery eyes, sneezing and tingly nose lately? The Weather Channel website has an good Pollen Forecast map that's very useful. Pollen counts in this Vermont area are High.
Sun and rain make for a hearty blooming season for goldenrod, and other pollen producing plants. Its the time of year when despite high outdoor temperatures, I feel like putting on socks, making hot tea, and curling up with tissue. I keep cough drops with me for those moments when my voice gets scratchy, and my throat gets a tickle.

  1. I hate a Love/Hate relationship with this time of year. I know I am heading into major allergies, though everything should be dying off. I had the WORST winter last year, with sinus infections, and resorting to two Kenalog shots for relief, in a three month period, before it all cleared up. Lovely to look at - hell on my allergies! XOXO

    1. Hi Katherine, I hope your allergies are doing better.
High temperatures for a summer's summer with enough rain means allergy season will be a bother.
Thank you. The photo is a part of the last section next door of the hedgerow taken down last summer. Sad its gone, but I don't miss the mosquitoes enough to want it back, at least as large as it was.

    1. Hi Debbie,
      Prayers your allergies aren't bad
Around here, yesterday was the worse, and today isn't much better. Being indoors during the hot weather is okay.
