Art Studio Design

Do you have a separate designated art studio space? Or is your studio a corner by a window? A closet? Back porch? If you don't have a real for your art only space, then perhaps you have dreams of one.
I do.
Hence, a search on the Internet for ideas on how to transform a small area into a separate mini art studio. I know I want white painted wood, a cabinet, easel, peg board wall, and good lighting. I have a cabinet. And dreams.
Here are some art studios to swoon over from the website, Houzz.com

  1. Oh wow-I love them all-the light, the windows-the white! I do have my own studio. Right now it's painted terra cotta orange. I have my own entrance and porch. The room was once our living room, but we turned the dining room into our living room. I think I am going to paint it white this summer, like the living room. I do love that orange, but there's nothing quite like all white to set off all the other stuff in a room, and of course, to make the room brighter.

    1. Hi Debra,
Check out that houzz.com website for more gorgeous interiors. I'm surprised I haven't heard of it before. Great architectural and interior design resource

  2. HI Maywyn, I have made my living room into my art studio. I do keep my bigger supplies in other places. My art table is next to 2 windows and the walls are painted "butter" a soft cream. I like that better than white for me.. it's warmer. It helps to be able to just sit down and paint. I love it. These are gorgeous studios!!! Wow.. , just clear off your own table and go for it. love,Diana

    1. Hello Diana,
A light butter color sounds wonderful and soothing.
I'm going to experiment with fabric before I make a final decision on color.
I've been clearing and cleaning out my desk area for the make-over. I need a larger shredder. lol

  3. Dear Maywyn - these are all lovely - think I like the last one best. I turned a small spare bedroom into my own space - before that painted at my kitchen counter (still do at times when I am working on a large piece). Have a great day - hope you find a lovely spot where you are to paint my friend.

    1. Hi Debbie,
I love all the sun and closeness of the woods in the last studio picture. I like the garage best though, (adding in my dreams a napping loft in a corner to take advantage of all those windows).
