Desk Chit Chat: Snakes, Clouds, Clutter, Moon & a Quote

Garter Snake & Rain Drops
Let summer be summer means enjoy the Sun's warmth and outdoors.

I moved deck things. Later, a visitor reminding me where he or she lives. It begins to rain, tongue flickers, and back it goes under the bench.

Cumulus Cloud

Clouds this summer have been spectacular.  The cloud in the photo, feels like George Washington will p0p up any minute.

Frosty days will soon be upon us. The end of summer is a good time to plan for winter, harvest your ideas, clear out the clutter. And, change passwords!

Moon Waxing August 2018

The Moon is spectacular in August. If the sky is clear, then take note of the August Sturgeon Moon on the 15th.

Quotes are word gems that many folks can relate to about life, the world, politics.
Here are wise words by Mark Twain:
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level, and then beat you with experience.

  1. It's easier to fool people than to convince them they've been fooled. Also Mark Twain.

    2. well, I don't like the a/c too cold either. Can never understand people that keep it so cold in their house that they have to wear a sweater.

  4. Our summer is finally cooling into the 80's, and although the nights are still a little warmer than I would like, I am loving the easing into fall.

    1. Hi Tabor,
Easing is a wonderful word to describe the seasonal changes.
August in Vermont can be hot days, cool nights.

  5. Maywyn - Mark Twain always had great quotes. This one certainly made me smile and how true. I will be hoping to see that Sturgeon moon on the 15th - thanks for giving me a heads up. As for you friend the garter snake...hopefully he will remain in your part of the world :)!! Hugs

    1. Hi Debbie,
Mr. Garter hasn't been seen since. Silly me, I feel intimidated to not move the planters again.

    1. Hi William,
It has been years since a garter snake showed up here. There are a lot of plants on my deck as in atttacting snake food.

  8. Hi Jenclair,
Cool means maybe no mosquitoes. Taking pictures of the Moon last night, I used bug spray anyway.

  9. The only real sign of autumn closing in is the all too many spider webs EVERYWHERE around the house and yard, and of course the cooler nights. I'm sure snakes must have some purpose but for me the only good snake......
    Have a wonderful day
    xx, Carol

    1. Hi Carol,
Spiders here have been less this year. I think the heat keeps them away.
